Vastu Shanti Puja vidhi, step by step
- 1Sankalp. The Pandit takes the sankalp in the name of the owner or head of the family, with names, gotra, address and intention.
- 2Ganesh puja and Kalash sthapana. Lord Ganesha is worshipped and a kalash is established to invoke holy waters and deities.
- 3Navagraha and Shodash Matrika puja. The nine planetary deities and the mother goddesses are worshipped as per the vidhi followed.
- 4Vastu mandala puja. A Vastu mandala is drawn or placed, and Vastu Purusha along with the devatas of its squares and the directions are worshipped with offerings.
- 5Vastu havan. A havan is performed with Vastu mantras, Navagraha ahutis and ghee, often with specific samidha (wood).
- 6Balidan offerings and yantra sthapana. Symbolic offerings (such as grains and sweets) are made to the directional deities; a Vastu yantra may be installed if the family wishes.
- 7Purnahuti and aarti. The havan concludes with purnahuti, followed by aarti, sprinkling of sanctified water through the space and prasad.
