What is Vastu Shanti Puja?
Vastu Shanti Puja honours Vastu Purusha, the deity believed in tradition to preside over every plot of land and building, along with the devatas of the directions. It is commonly performed alongside Griha Pravesh, after renovation or structural changes, or when a family feels the home would benefit from a formal ritual of peace.
The vidhi typically includes Ganesh puja, Kalash sthapana, Navagraha puja, worship of the Vastu mandala with offerings to the deities of its squares, and a havan with Vastu mantras. Some families also install a Vastu yantra at the end of the puja.
A Vastu Shanti is a religious ritual, not an architectural fix, it does not replace structural or design advice. The scale of the vidhi and the customs followed vary by region and family, and the Pandit adapts the ceremony accordingly.
Significance
According to a well-known Puranic story, Vastu Purusha was a being pinned to the earth by the devatas, who agreed to reside on his body; he was granted the boon of being worshipped before any construction or dwelling. Vastu Shanti is how households traditionally honour him and the directional deities before or while occupying a space.
Devotees see the ritual as a way of acknowledging the land, the elements and the directions, and of seeking forgiveness for any disturbance caused during construction. It is associated with peace, harmony and a settled atmosphere in the home or workplace.

How much does a Vastu Shanti Puja cost?
It depends on the vidhi, number of Pandits, samagri and location. Share your details on WhatsApp for a quote.

Yes. Griha Pravesh marks the family's entry into a home, while Vastu Shanti specifically honours Vastu Purusha and the directional deities. They are often performed together.
Can Vastu Shanti be done without moving house?
Yes. Many families perform it in an existing home after renovation or simply when they wish to hold a ritual of peace for the space.
Does Vastu Shanti replace structural Vastu changes?
No. It is a religious ritual. If you are considering design or structural changes, those are separate decisions best made with the relevant professionals.
Can it be performed online?
Yes, the Pandit can perform the sankalp and puja in your name over a video call, with guidance for a simple setup in your home. In-person puja is also available.
