Overview
Durga Saptashati Path for families in Jnanabharathi
Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Jnanabharathi takes its name from the Bangalore University campus off Mysore Road, whose large green grounds also hold other institutions. The layouts around it reach towards Nagarbhavi, Mallathahalli, Nagadevanahalli and Ullal.
