What is Durga Saptashati Path?
Recitation of the 700 verses of the Devi Mahatmya from the Markandeya Purana, traditionally chanted during Navratri and in times of difficulty.
A trained Pandit recites the full text with Kavacha, Argala and Keelaka, and the path can be done in one sitting, spread across Navaratri, or followed by a Chandi Homa. Correct Sanskrit pronunciation matters to most families, which is why they ask for a Pandit.
