Overview
Durga Saptashati Path for families in Kumara Park
Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Kumara Park is an old central neighbourhood split into Kumara Park East, near Kumara Krupa Road and Gandhi Bhavan, and Kumara Park West, near Seshadripuram and the railway line. The Race Course and the Sheshadri Road offices are close by.

For popular muhurat dates and festival seasons, it helps to enquire a week or two ahead where possible. For other dates, shorter notice is often manageable, we confirm availability on WhatsApp.

Is the path read in Sanskrit? Will the meaning be explained?
The path is recited in the original Sanskrit, since correct pronunciation is part of the tradition. If you would like, the Pandit can explain the sankalp and the story of each charitra in Hindi, or in Telugu or Kannada where that is your family's language.
