Overview
Durga Saptashati Path for families in Adikmet
Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Adikmet lies along the southern edge of the Osmania University campus, between Vidyanagar, Ramnagar and the Shivam Road junction. Its lanes have a long association with the university: teachers, staff and retired officials live here, and many students rent rooms in the area.
