Pitru Dosha Puja in Jaipur: Local Traditions

Jaipur is Rajasthan's capital and one of the busiest wedding cities in India, with families booking Pandits for Vivah, Tilak, Ganesh Sthapana and every ceremony in between. Govind Dev Ji in the City Palace complex draws devotees for its daily jhankis, and Moti Dungri Ganesh is where many families begin a new home or business.

Jaipur follows the Rajasthani vidhi with Hindi and Dhundhari in the home, and its Brahmin community includes Gaur, Gurjar Gaur, Dadhich, Pareek, Khandelwal and Shrimali families. Gaudiya Vaishnav worship at Govind Dev Ji and Pushtimarg practice among Vaishnav families sit alongside a large Punjabi and Sindhi community in areas like Raja Park and Adarsh Nagar.
