Ayodhya
What is Satyanarayan Puja?
A beloved household puja to Lord Vishnu as Satyanarayan, with the five-chapter Satyanarayan Katha, commonly held on Purnima or after a happy milestone.
Satyanarayan Puja is among the rituals families in Ayodhya book most often, alongside Mundan Sanskar, Saryu Snan and Pujan and Akhand Ramayan Path.

Satyanarayan Puja in Ayodhya: Local Traditions
Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shri Ram on the banks of the Saryu, has seen a surge of pilgrims since the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir opened in 2024. Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and the Nageshwarnath Mandir are part of every pilgrim's round, and the city's ghats host Mundan, Saryu Pujan and ancestral rites every day.
Ayodhya is the home ground of the Saryupareen Brahmins, named after the land beyond the Saryu, and many purohit families here are Saryupareen. Worship is shaped by the Ramanandi Vaishnav tradition, with Ramcharitmanas recitation, Sundarkand and Akhand Ramayan Path central to both temple and household rites.

Samagri is not included in the dakshina; it is at an additional cost, agreed after discussion with Pandit ji. There is no payment to enquire.
What is the cost of Satyanarayan Puja in Ayodhya?
Satyanarayan Puja in Ayodhya starts from about ₹4,100 for one Pandit and around 2 to 3 hours. The final dakshina depends on the number of Pandits, the chant count, and travel within Ayodhya. Samagri is not included in the dakshina; it is at an additional cost, agreed after discussion with Pandit ji. We share an exact quote on WhatsApp.

Yes. Pandits in Ayodhya speak Hindi and Awadhi. Tell us the language you want the puja explained in and whether you follow North Indian or local vidhi, and we match the Pandit.
Do you send Pandits to Ram Kot, Hanuman Garhi, Naya Ghat and Ram ki Paidi?

Yes. We can stream the puja live on video, or arrange a fully online Satyanarayan Puja with sankalp in your family's name.
When is Satyanarayan Katha done?
Purnima, the full moon day, is the most popular day each month, and Ekadashi and Sankranti are also common. Families also hold it after a happy event such as griha pravesh, a wedding, a birthday, a new job, a new vehicle or a shop opening, or simply to give thanks. The Pandit can suggest a muhurat.
Can you arrange a Pandit who reads Satyanarayan Katha in Hindi in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad or Pune?
Yes. We arrange Hindi speaking Pandits who follow the North Indian vidhi and read all five adhyayas in Hindi. If your family prefers the Telugu Satyanarayana Vratham or Kannada Satyanarayana Pooje, we arrange that instead.
What happens in the five adhyayas of Satyanarayan Katha?
The first chapter tells how Narad asked Lord Vishnu for a simple way to end suffering; the second, the story of a poor Brahmin and a woodcutter; the third, King Ulkamukh and the merchant Sadhu Vaishya; the fourth, what befell the merchant when he forgot his vow; and the fifth, King Tungadhwaj, who disregarded the prasad. Each ends with the importance of keeping one's word to the Lord.
