Sundarkand Path vidhi, step by step
- 1Setting up the altar. Pictures of Shri Rama Darbar and Hanuman are placed on a red cloth, with the Ramcharitmanas on a stand, a diya and flowers.
- 2Ganesh Pujan and sankalp. The path begins with Ganesh Pujan and a sankalp in the family's name, gotra and intention.
- 3Vandana and Hanuman Chalisa. Guru, Ganesh and Hanuman vandana are recited, followed by the Hanuman Chalisa.
- 4Sundarkand recitation. The complete Sundarkand is sung, chaupai by chaupai with its dohas and sorathas, often with harmonium and dholak and the family joining in.
- 5Concluding stuti. The path ends with Ram stuti such as Shri Ramchandra Kripalu Bhajman and, in many homes, another Hanuman Chalisa.
