Overview
Durga Saptashati Path for families in Kalkere
Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Kalkere lies around the Kalkere lake in north east Bangalore, between Horamavu Agara, Ramamurthy Nagar and the Hennur side. The old village has given way to apartment complexes, layouts of independent houses and rented homes along Kalkere Main Road.
