Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Mathikere lies between Yeshwanthpur, Malleshwaram and New BEL Road, with the MS Ramaiah college and hospital campus at its heart and the Indian Institute of Science a short distance away. Gokula Extension and the streets around it have independent houses, small apartments and student housing.
