- 1Ganesh Pujan and kalash. The Pandit begins with Ganesh Pujan and kalash sthapana, and both families are seated for the sankalp.
- 2Sankalp for both families. The Pandit takes the sankalp with the names and gotras of the bride, the groom and their parents.
- 3Tilak and shagun. Tilak is applied, and shagun of sweets, dry fruits, coconut, clothes and gifts is exchanged as per each family's custom.
