Overview
Durga Saptashati Path for families in Panathur
Durga Saptashati, also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a holy text of 700 verses (sapta-shati) in 13 chapters, forming part of the Markandeya Purana. It narrates the Goddess's victories over Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shumbha-Nishumbha, and is one of the most revered texts of Shakta worship.
Panathur grew around the road that connects Kadubeesanahalli on the Outer Ring Road with Balagere and Varthur Road, passing under the railway line. In a short time the old village has been surrounded by mid sized and large apartment complexes.

Is the path read in Sanskrit? Will the meaning be explained?
The path is recited in the original Sanskrit, since correct pronunciation is part of the tradition. If you would like, the Pandit can explain the sankalp and the story of each charitra in Hindi, or in Telugu or Kannada where that is your family's language.
