Families in Kolkata book Narasimha Puja for narasimha jayanti (vaishakha shukla chaturdashi), traditionally at sandhya (dusk), and we arrange a Pandit who knows the full vidhi.

Narasimha Puja in Kolkata: Local Traditions

Kolkata has one of the richest household puja cultures in India. Bengali families keep a family Purohit for Annaprashan, Poita, Bibaho and Shraddha, and the home calendar runs through Lakshmi Puja on Thursdays, Kojagari Lakshmi Puja after Durga Puja, Kali Puja and Saraswati Puja.

Durga Puja season is the busiest time of the year for any priest, with bonedi bari family pujas in north Kolkata and thousands of community pandals across the city. Alongside this, the city's large Marwari and Hindi speaking population keeps North Indian Pandits busy through Diwali, weddings and Chhath.
