Hartalika Teej Puja in Bhopal: Local Traditions
Bhopal is a city of lakes, government offices and public sector townships, and many of its families arrived through transfers and jobs. That keeps demand for Griha Pravesh and Satyanarayan Katha steady in new colonies across the city.
Bhopal follows a Hindi belt vidhi drawing on Malwa and Bundelkhand customs, with Kanyakubja, Saryupareen and Jijhotiya Brahmin families among its priests. A large Sindhi community in Bairagarh and Maharashtrian families from the city's past add their own customs, and Bihari families in BHEL and other townships observe Chhath at the lakes.
