Sarnath, a few kilometres north-east of central Varanasi, is revered around the world as the place where the Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. Its stupas, monasteries and museum draw pilgrims and visitors from many countries throughout the year.
Around the historic site, Sarnath is also a quiet residential area with homes, colonies and hotels. Some visiting families choose to stay here for the calm, green surroundings while travelling into Varanasi for their rituals.

The stupas and monasteries of Sarnath are holy Buddhist sites, and PujaKarma does not arrange Hindu rituals at them. Visitors are encouraged to explore them respectfully and follow the guidance at each site.
Hindu families who live in Sarnath's residential areas, or who are staying in a hotel here, can book home pujas as they would anywhere in Varanasi, Satyanarayan Puja, Griha Pravesh in a new house, or a Navagraha Puja. For rites that belong by the Ganga, such as tarpan or pind daan, the Pandit will guide you to the ghats in the city.
