Namkaran Sanskar vidhi, step by step

1. 1Name Guidance (optional). If the family wishes, the Pandit suggests auspicious starting syllables based on the child’s birth nakshatra.
2. 2Ganesh Puja and Sankalp. The ceremony begins with Lord Ganesha’s worship and a sankalp with the parents’ names and gotra.
3. 3Kalash and Navagraha Puja. A kalash is established and prayers are offered to the Navagrahas and the family deity.
4. 4Short Havan. Where part of the family’s custom, a brief havan is performed with prayers for the child.
5. 5Naming the Child. The father or a family elder whispers the chosen name into the child’s ear, and it is then announced to the family.
6. 6Blessings and Aarti. Elders bless the child, the Pandit concludes with aarti, and prasad is shared.
