Delhi
What is Durga Saptashati Path?
Recitation of the 700 verses of the Devi Mahatmya from the Markandeya Purana, traditionally chanted during Navratri and in times of difficulty.
In Delhi, families book the path in Navratri, at Ghatasthapana, on Ashtami or Navami with Kanya Pujan, or at any time they seek the Devi's protection. A Pandit can recite the full path in a day or spread it across the nine days as your family prefers.
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्तिरूपेण संस्थिता।

Why Families Choose Delhi for Durga Saptashati Path
Navratri is one of Delhi's most visible festivals. The Kalkaji Mandir, the Jhandewalan Devi Mandir and the Chhatarpur temple draw long queues, and homes across the city set up kalash and jyot for the nine days. Many families who cannot recite the full Saptashati themselves book a Pandit to do it at home.
Customs vary, from a full path every day of Navratri, to one complete path with havan on Ashtami, to a Chandi havan for a special sankalp. Bengali families in Chittaranjan Park follow their own Durga Puja traditions, while North Indian homes follow the Saptashati vidhi. The Pandit will match your practice.
