Overview
Chandi Homam is a fire ritual dedicated to Goddess Chandi, the fierce form of Durga. It is traditionally performed alongside the recitation of the Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam), with offerings made into the holy fire as its verses are chanted.
Families often choose Chandi Homam during Navratri, on Ashtami or Navami, or at times when they seek the Goddess's protection and strength. Depending on tradition and scale, it may be performed by a single Pandit or by a group reciting the Saptashati together.
It can be arranged at home, at a suitable venue or with an online sankalp where the family joins by video.

Yā devī sarvabhūteṣu śaktirūpeṇa saṁsthitā, namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ.
The Devi Mahatmyam describes the Goddess overcoming forces that threatened balance in the world. Chandi Homam draws on these verses, and devotees traditionally regard it as an invocation of the Goddess's protective power.
In many households the Chandi Homam is considered one of the most significant Shakti rituals, often undertaken with a specific sankalp and performed with particular care over preparation and timing.
