A devotional puja of Lord Shiva with jal abhishek, bel patra and Panchakshari mantra, simple, meaningful and suited to Mondays, Sawan and Pradosh.
Chandra Dev (the Moon), with Lord Shiva
Chandra Graha Shanti
A traditional Monday puja for Chandra Dev, performed with white offerings, milk abhishek to Shiva and the Chandra beej mantra to seek emotional calm and blessings.

Overview
What is Chandra Graha Shanti?
Chandra is associated in Jyotish with the mind, emotions, intuition, nourishment and one's relationship with mother. Because the Moon moves quickly and governs the mind, Chandra worship is traditionally seen as a way to seek calm, contentment and emotional balance.
The vidhi typically includes Ganesh puja, sankalp, Chandra puja on white cloth with rice, milk, white flowers and a silver or conch vessel for arghya, and jaap of the Chandra beej mantra 'Om Shraam Shreem Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah'. A full anushthan commonly involves 11,000 recitations; shorter counts are also chosen.
Lord Shiva wears the crescent moon on his head, so Chandra is traditionally worshipped alongside him, often with a milk abhishek on a Monday. In Varanasi, Shiva's own city, this pairing feels especially natural. Your Pandit will follow your family's custom.

Brahmā murāris tripurāntakārī bhānuḥ śaśī bhūmisuto budhaś ca, guruś ca śukraḥ śani rāhu ketavaḥ sarve grahāḥ śāntikarā bhavantu.
Significance
In the Puranas, Chandra received a curse that caused him to wane, and Lord Shiva, pleased by his devotion, placed him on his head and allowed him to wax again. This story is why the Moon's phases are linked with Shiva's grace, and why Somvar (Monday) worship of Shiva and Chandra go together.
Devotees associate Chandra worship with a peaceful mind, restful sleep, emotional steadiness and warmth in family bonds. It is also commonly performed as a prayer for the well-being of one's mother.
