What is Budh Graha Shanti?
Budh is associated in Jyotish with intellect, speech, communication, trade, analytical skill and a youthful, curious mind. Budh Graha Shanti is a traditional way to honour him, often chosen by students, writers, teachers and people in business who wish to seek his blessings.
The vidhi generally includes Ganesh puja, sankalp, Budh puja on green cloth with whole moong and green offerings, and jaap of the Budh beej mantra 'Om Braam Breem Braum Sah Budhaya Namah'. A full anushthan commonly involves 9,000 recitations, which a Pandit can often complete within a day or two.
Budh is traditionally worshipped alongside Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha, and Wednesday Ganesh worship is widely linked with him. Tulsi and durva feature naturally in the puja. Your Pandit will adapt the vidhi to your family's tradition.
