    About the area

    Kompally

Kompally lies on the northern edge of Hyderabad, along the highway towards Medchal and a short drive from Secunderabad. Once mostly farmland and nurseries, it is now dotted with villa communities, independent houses and apartment complexes, while keeping more open space than the city centre.

Many families move to Kompally for larger homes, villas and duplexes with gardens, and for its quieter setting. Residents include long-time Secunderabad families as well as newcomers from across India.

    Rituals families seek here

Gruhapravesam for newly built villas and independent houses is one of the most common rituals here. With more space, families often include a full homam, Vastu Shanti and even go puja where practical, followed by a Satyanarayana Vratham for guests.

Families building on plots in and around Kompally also book Bhoomi puja before construction begins. Larger homes make it easy to host Chandi Homam, Sudarshana Homam or a family Upanayanam at home rather than in a hall.

    Practical notes

    • The highway through Kompally can be slow at peak hours, early starts help Pandits and guests arriving from the city.
    • Villa gardens and terraces are well suited to homams; keep a safe distance from dry plants.
    • For Bhoomi puja on an open plot, arrange shade, seating and water for the family.
    • Share a pinned location, as some newer communities and plots are not well mapped.
    • Villa communities usually still require gate passes for visitors.
