Rajendranagar spreads out south of the city along the Bangalore highway, best known for the agricultural university campus and the research farms around it. Much of the land here is still open, with fields, nurseries and older village settlements between the newer residential pockets.
Over the last few years, gated villa projects and apartment enclaves have come up along the main roads and towards Attapur, Budvel and the ORR. Families buying plots here often build over time, so the neighbourhood holds both bare sites and freshly completed homes.

Because so much building is still under way, Bhoomi Puja before breaking ground is one of the most requested rituals in Rajendranagar. It is usually held on the plot itself at an early muhurtham, with a small family gathering and the ground marked out beforehand.
Once a house is complete, families follow with Vastu Shanti and Gruhapravesam, and those moving into a gated project often add a Satyanarayana Vratham. Navagraha Puja and Ganapati Homam are also booked when an astrologer suggests them before starting construction.
