Office & Shop Opening Puja vidhi, step by step

1. 1Entrance preparation. The entrance is decorated with a toran, swastik and Shubh Labh; a clean space is prepared for the puja.
2. 2Sankalp. The Pandit takes the sankalp in the name of the owner or partners, including the business name, address and intention.
3. 3Ganesh puja and Kalash sthapana. Lord Ganesha is worshipped first and a kalash is established with water, mango leaves and coconut.
4. 4Lakshmi puja. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped with lotus or red flowers, sweets and coins, often alongside Kuber in trading traditions.
5. 5Worship of account books and tools. Bahi-khata, the cash counter, computers, scales or machinery are marked with roli and worshipped as per custom.
6. 6Havan. A short havan is performed with ahutis for Ganesha, Lakshmi and the Navagraha, if space allows.
7. 7Aarti and first transaction. The puja ends with aarti and prasad. Many owners then make a symbolic first sale or open the doors to customers.
