Overview
What is Gayatri Homam?
Gayatri Homam is built around the Gayatri Mantra from the Rig Veda, one of the most revered mantras in Hindu tradition. Offerings are made into the fire as the mantra is chanted a set number of times, often 108 or 1008.
The homam is often performed after an Upanayana, on Gayatri Jayanti, or as a regular family homam. It can also be combined with other homams on the same day.
It can be performed at home, in a temple or with an online sankalp, with Pandits following your family's Vedic shakha where possible.
