The Shravan Tuesday vratham to Goddess Mangala Gauri, kept by newly married women for the first years of marriage, especially in Telugu and Marathi families.
It is most widely observed by Telugu families and also by Marathi families, who call it Mangalagaur, and by some Kannada families, especially from North Karnataka. A Pandit can guide the first year's vratha, which is usually the most elaborate.
