What is Upanayana (Janeu) Sanskar?
The holy thread ceremony marking the start of a child’s formal spiritual learning, with Gayatri Mantra initiation, performed as per family tradition.
The ceremony usually includes udakashanti, the tying of the yajnopavita, Brahmopadesha and bhiksha, and it can span one or two days. A Pandit can perform it at a hall, a matha premises you arrange or at home.
