The traditional ceremony for an expectant mother, with prayers for her wellbeing and the baby’s healthy arrival, and blessings from the women of the family.
Tamil families call it Valaikappu and Seemantham, Telugu families Seemantham, and North Indian families Godh Bharai. A Pandit can perform the ritual part at home or in a hall.
